Privacy Policy
How Matia Labs handles information in connection with CoDo Spaces and CoDo Fit.
1. Introduction
Matia Labs, Inc. (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with our virtual reality and spatial computing applications (collectively, the “Service”), which run on platforms that handle data differently.
Key Point: On Meta Quest, CoDo Spaces and CoDo Fit collect and process user data through Meta Quest platform features (such as your User ID, profile, avatar, and friends list) to enable social and multiplayer functionality (see Sections 3 and 4). Your progress and app settings are stored locally on your device, and neither app requires creating a separate account with us.
Key Point: On Apple iOS & visionOS, CoDo Fit creates an account and stores your profile and progress in the cloud (Google Firebase) so they sync across your devices.

5. CoDo Fit (Apple iOS & visionOS): Account and Data We Collect
When you create a CoDo Fit account, we collect the information below so that your fitness experience is personalized and your progress is saved across your devices. Your account and progress are stored in the cloud using Google Firebase (data centers in the United States), which acts as our data processor. We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.
Account Information
- Name and Email Address: Used to create your account, sign you in, and recover access.
- User ID: Your Firebase account identifier, used to link your saved progress to you.
- Birthday: Used to confirm you meet the minimum age and to tailor fitness guidance to your age.
- Gender (optional): If you choose to provide it, your gender is used only to personalize fitness guidance. This is the “Sensitive Info” category referenced in our App Store listing; it is optional, and you can use CoDo Fit without it.
- Fitness & Activity Progress: Your workout activity and progress across the three activity domains, saved so you can pick up where you left off.
On-Device and Real-Time Data (not stored by us)
The following data is used live to run the experience and is never uploaded to or retained on our servers:
- Audio and Video: Streamed in real time during multi-user sessions so participants can interact (see Section 7).
- Environment Scanning, Head & Hand Tracking: Provided live by Apple’s visionOS frameworks to render your avatar and place the experience in your space. This data stays on your device.
- Contacts: Accessed on your device only to populate the friend-invite share sheet (see Section 6).
Analytics
- Product Interaction & Device Identifier: We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used and to improve it. This collects in-app interaction events and a device identifier. We do not use this data for advertising.
6. CoDo Fit: Inviting Friends
If you choose to invite a friend to a session, the app opens your device’s standard share sheet, which needs access to your Contacts to show your address book. Your contacts are used only on your device to populate that share sheet — they are never uploaded to or stored on our servers.
7. Real-Time Audio, Video & Avatar Streaming
During multi-user sessions on all platforms, we collect and process your audio, video, and avatar position, streaming them in real time to the other participants so you can interact. This data is used solely to run the live session and is discarded once the session ends.
On Meta Quest, this real-time transport is handled by Photon (Exit Games).
8. Third-Party Services
Our Service integrates with various third-party platforms and services, including:
- Meta Quest platform and services (CoDo Spaces and CoDo Fit on Meta Quest)
- Photon (Exit Games) — real-time multiplayer networking, peer voice chat, and environment sync (CoDo Spaces and CoDo Fit on Meta Quest)
- Google Firebase — account storage and analytics (CoDo Fit on Apple iOS & visionOS only)
- Apple iOS and visionOS platform services (CoDo Fit on Apple)
Your interactions with these services are governed by their respective privacy policies, not this policy.
9. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical measures to protect your information.
For CoDo Fit, account data is stored using Google Firebase’s secured infrastructure and transmitted over encrypted connections.
For real-time processing on all platforms, we protect against unauthorized access during transmission.

Our Service is not directed to children under the applicable age of digital consent, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under the applicable age has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@matialabs.com and we will delete it.

You may also request access to or correction of your account data by emailing us.
